It's National Learn to Row Day and you are cordially invited to join NCR in celebrating the wonderful sport of rowing.
Learn all about this sport from parts of the boat, to who sits in what seat, to what the coxswain does (it's a myth that the coxswain yells "stroke!"), and then take a try on the water with an oar in your hand. That's oar, not paddle, there's a difference.
Looking forward to seeing you at this wonderful community event. Please register below so we know you will be attending.
Join us and bring a friend to the first Learn to Row Day of our summer season. Learn all about the boat, the oars, the vocabulary of rowing and how to actually take some strokes on the water.
Learn to Row Day is a free event that is open to the public. Minimum age for participation is 14. Maximum age is...there is no maximum age. Yippee!
Meet some of the members of Northampton Community rowing and learn something new in a supportive and welcoming environment.
NCR's annual Ergathon will commence on Saturday April 21st. Location will be on the corner of Pleasant St and Main. All NCR rowers, adults and youth, are expected to participate. The NCR Ergathon is a fundraising event that showcases the club in a public venue, with rowers on the ergs raising money in pledges for erg meters. Minimum number of meters per rower is 5ooom.
Teams will be formed and competition will be stiff to see which team, Blue or Gold, can raise the most funds. All donations are tax deductible and will be used to strengthen our club operations, equipment, or facilities.
See you on the erg!
